Retention, export, delete

Manage local data on your device. Contact support for account and cloud data when self-service is unavailable.

HeapFile separates local memory from account, billing, support, and optional cloud feature data. Retention, export, and deletion depend on where the data is stored.

Local retention

  • Local memory, project context, browser profile state, and local logs live on the user's device unless a cloud feature is explicitly configured.
  • Users and admins should apply their own device backup, disk encryption, and OS retention controls.
  • Uninstalling the app may not remove all local app-data directories, browser sessions, or exports; delete those intentionally when retiring a device.

Cloud and account retention

  • Account, support, entitlement, and billing records are retained only as needed for service operations, security, payment handling, and legal obligations.
  • Cloud sync, team, connector, and automation retention depends on the specific service once enabled for the account.
  • Organizations should request written retention settings before moving real company data into cloud-backed features.

Export

  • Local exports should be created from the local client or local data directory when the relevant export tool is available.
  • For cloud/account data, email support from the account email and describe the export scope.
  • Exports should be redacted before sharing with support unless support explicitly needs the content.

Delete

  • Delete local data from the device and app-data directory you control.
  • Request cloud/account deletion through admin@heapfile.com when self-service deletion is not available.
  • Some billing, tax, fraud-prevention, support, backup, and security records may be retained as required after account deletion.
