Install HeapFile AI
Sign in first. Download the right build from your account.
HeapFile AI release artifacts stay private. Create or open your HeapFile account, then use the account portal to get the release channel your tier can access.
DMG path
macOS distribution requires Apple Developer signing and notarization before broad distribution. Follow the setup instructions for any macOS build available in your account.
Package path
Linux support is planned through documented package or tarball setup. Availability depends on the release channel shown in your account.
After install
Connect membership, then connect your AI client.
The desktop client checks membership against HeapFile's account API. Free users can validate local memory and setup; Premium users get access as paid cloud features are deployed and entitled.
- Install. Use the build from your account portal.
- Sign in. Open membership in the desktop app and complete browser sign-in.
- Verify tier. Confirm Free or Premium appears in the app.
- Connect client. Register HeapFile as an MCP server where supported and confirm
prepare_workis visible. - First memory. Save and recall one local project note without secrets or customer data.
- Local AI. Use Ollama or another local runtime only if it is already present; it is not required for first value.
